Education and Career Guidance

Education and Career Guidance (ECG) is about engaging, inspiring and challenging students to develop aspirations and plan proactively for their future. The acquisition of knowledge about self and opportunities in education and work will enable students to apply decision-making skills and develop plans to achieve their career aspirations and life goals. Through ECG, social emotional competencies such as proactivity, adaptability and resilience are developed to prepare students for the 21st Century workforce.

Through the ECG Curriculum, we aim to:

- enable the individual to explore viable options through the provision of information;
- nurture students’ self-awareness, self-directedness and life skills;
- inculcate an appreciation for the value of all occupations;
- equip our students with skills and means to positively engage their career influencers

At Bedok View, ECG is delivered through the following three pillars:

1. ECG Curriculum
- Structured ECG Lessons
- Skills Future Student Portal Training

2. ECG Experience
- Open House Visits (JC, Polytechnics, ITE)
- Career Seminar
- Post-Secondary Education Pathways (DSA/ EAE) Talk
- Workshops (Interview & Portfolio Preparation)
- Learning Journeys (e.g. ITE, Lifelong Learning Institute)
- Elective Modules
- Work Shadowing Programme

3. ECG Counselling
-    One-on-one conferencing with FTs
-    Counselling with ECG Counsellor
